Case Studies
Expanding the
study City-Wide
In this project, Pirnie’s technical staff has retrieve the data identified as optimal for the use of a complete condition assessment such as physical data (diameter, age, pipe type, length), water main breaks, TV inspection of sewers and other social and economic information. As for the previous project, the data was gathered from the City’s GBA system and their ESRI-based GIS. Following the Harfan's proven Infrastructure Management Approach (HIMATM), Pirnie’s engineers have produced a condition assessment that represents the current status of underground assets. Then, predictive models using field information and expertise have been determined. Finally, several investment scenarios have been elaborated to come up with a final recommendation on renewal of underground assets for the City of Newark.
“With Harfan’s
approach you can show to council that you have a plan and that there’s a
structured reasoning behind it. It gives great credibility to it.”
