How we optimized their asset management
With the objective of rehabilitating the water, sewer, road
and steam networks, this area study consisted of producing a mid to long
term Integrated Capital Improvement Plan (ICIP), complete with a condition
assessment of the studied assets. Using Harfan's Infrastructure Management
Approach (HIMATM),
DND optimized the rehabilitation of its assets, extended their service life
and reduced the costs of ownership.
Many times proven, DND gained from Harfan's knowledge based methodology and
software solution, maximizing Harfan's Integrated Decision Support System
(IDSSTM),
to produce an Integrated Capital Improvement Plan.
The deliverables to the Department of National Defence of Canada included:
-
Integrated planning of improvements and
renewal of road, water, sewer and steam infrastructure networks;
-
Increasing DND knowledge of the integrated
condition of road, water, sewer, and steam networks based on physical,
functional, related assets and socio-economic analysis;
-
Determining the short, medium and long term
needs for infrastructure renewal; and;
-
Knowing where, when, how and how much, DND
should allocate funds on water, sewer, road and steam networks to maintain
these networks at an adequate level of service.
HIMATM
enabled DND to strategically plan their asset repair & replace programs
while acknowledging specific technical, operational and budgetary
considerations.
